One species carries the whole piece: the fan of a ginkgo leaf repeats dozens of times, changing only in size and tilt. The deep green ground, brushed with verticals, holds the golden leaf, and the dry star-shaped seed heads are placed between them like punctuation. The pale wood of the frame closes the warm end of the range.
